NPORS Dozer Training Course

The NPORS Dozer Training Course aims to equip delegates with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to operate both Wheeled and Tracked Dozers in accordance with NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) standards.

Who Should Attend:

This course is designed for all personnel responsible for operating Wheeled or Tracked Dozers.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a dozer operator.
  • Identify the principal components of the machine, including basic construction, controls, and terminology.
  • Configure the dozer for safe travel on-site and across various terrains.
  • Configure the dozer for excavating duties effectively.
  • Conduct pre-use and post-use checks to ensure machine safety and efficiency.
  • Implement proper shut down and securing procedures.
  • Execute safe loading and unloading procedures.
  • Recognize potential hazards, including underground and overhead services.
  • Maneuver the dozer in a range of confined spaces.

Course Duration:

The duration of the training course varies based on delegates’ experience, the number of participants, and the ratio of delegates to machines per instructor.

Recommendations:

  • It is recommended that all delegates complete the NPORS-specific health and safety test.
  • Delegates will undertake the NPORS assessment, and upon successful completion, will receive a relevant NPORS Operators Card, valid for 5 years.

Important Information:

  • All delegates must bring valid photo identification, such as a passport or driving licence.
  • Training can also take place at customer premises if the facilities meet the required test criteria.
