The IPAF MEWPs for Managers training course is designed for managers and supervisors responsible for safely overseeing work at height and the use of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) in compliance with relevant regulations. This comprehensive course equips participants with essential knowledge for managing the safe use of MEWPs on-site, covering all aspects from job planning and risk assessment to equipment selection and risk mitigation.

The course covers the following key topics:

MEWP legislation and guidance
Rental terms and conditions
Types and uses of machines
Structural components and MEWP selection
Operator training and familiarization
Daily operator inspections
Personal fall protection for MEWPs
Safe operating methods and hazard awareness
Ensuring safety beyond training
Written assessment

The primary objective of this course is to equip delegates with essential knowledge for planning, supervising, and managing the use of MEWPs in the workplace, including:

Relevant legislation
MEWP classifications
Machine selection criteria
Personal protective equipment (PPE) considerations
Identifying misuse and abuse
Planning and maintenance best practices

Certification

Successful delegates will receive a Digital Certificate of Training for IPAF MEWPs for Managers, valid for 5 years.

Trainee Requirements

Candidates for the IPAF courses must:

Be at least 16 years of age
Use a computer equipped with a webcam to complete this course

Note: There is no hands-on practical requirement for this course.

PPE Requirements

Since the IPAF MEWPs for Managers course is entirely theory-based and conducted online, work-at-height PPE is not required.
