The CSCS Mobile Access Tower Scaffold Assessment Course
This course is for anybody who uses aluminium tower scaffolding in the course of their work.

The aim of the course is to give participants the skills, knowledge and attitude which will enable them to erect Mobile Access Aluminium Towers in a safe manner, in accordance with the Statutory Regulations and the manufacturers’ instructions.

On completion participants will be able to:

  • Understand Safe Erection and Dismantling Procedures to HD1004 Specification.
  • Understand the Principles of Accident Causation and Prevention.
  • Be aware of and understand Relevant Legislation.

Course Requirements

Candidate must have the following:

  • Safe Pass Registration Card or CSR Card
  • PPE (personal protective equipment), i.e. Hard Hat, High Visibility Vest, Steel Toe Capped Boots, Gloves.
  • One Passport Photograph with signature on the back
  • PPS Number of National Insurance Number
  • Trainee must be over 18
  • Must be English speaking
  • Must answer YES to at least 14 out of 20 questions on the Mobile Access Tower Experienced Operator’s Self Assessment document prior to the commencement of the programme

How long is the CSCS Mobile Access Tower Scaffold course?
One day, running from 7:45am to 5pm, made up of theory and a practical examination. On successful completion you receive your CSCS card and QQI Level 5 certificate.
Who needs the Mobile Access Tower Scaffold card?
Anyone who uses aluminium tower scaffolding as part of their work. The course covers erecting towers safely in line with the statutory regulations and the manufacturer's instructions.
Is it suitable for someone who has never built a tower?
Yes. The day covers safe erection and dismantling from the start, so no previous tower experience is needed.
Do I need a Safe Pass before I can do this course?
Yes. You need a valid Safe Pass card before you can take a CSCS course. If you do not have one, or yours has expired, you can book it on our Safe Pass courses page.
Where do you run this course?
At our JPC training centre in Rhode, Co. Offaly, just off the M6 at Exit 3, with parking on site. Convenient for Tullamore, Edenderry, Portarlington, Mullingar and the wider Midlands.
