Who Needs a SafePass?
Under SOLAS Safe Pass regulations, you legally need a valid Safe Pass card if you’re working on:- Construction sites (including residential, commercial, or civil works)
- Maintenance work on construction sites
- Groundworks, demolition, scaffolding, roofing, etc.
- Self-employed construction workers
- Supervisors or site managers who access the active site
If you’re entering a construction area where there’s risk of injury, you likely need a Safe Pass.

To maintain your qualification beyond the initial two-year certification period, you will need to undertake a refresher course.
