The NPORS Agricultural Tractor Training Course is designed to equip delegates with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely and effectively operate an agricultural tractor in compliance with NPORS (National Plant Operators Registration Scheme) standards. Upon successful completion, participants will receive an NPORS Operators Card, valid for 5 years.
The course aims to enable delegates to:
- Safely operate the agricultural tractor in line with manufacturer’s guidelines and industry best practices.
- Conduct thorough pre-shift and post-shift maintenance checks.
- Maneuver the tractor confidently in both forward and reverse.
- Attach and detach implements such as the Power Take-Off (PTO).
- Acquire the practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary to pass the NPORS assessment.
Course Content:
Participants will take part in both theoretical lessons and practical exercises, covering the following areas:
- Introduction to the construction and agricultural industries.
- Overview of relevant regulations and compliance.
- Tractor introduction and safety features.
- Pre-shift inspections and daily maintenance checks.
- Understanding controls and instruments.
- Coolant, fuel, and lubrication systems management.
- Proper use of the 3-point linkage and Power Take-Off (PTO).
- Reversing with a trailer and safe loading/unloading techniques.
- Use of mounted implements.
- NPORS assessment (theory and practical).

Course Duration:
The duration of the course is flexible and depends on the delegate’s experience and the number of participants, as well as the instructor-to-machine ratio. We recommend all delegates take the NPORS-specific health and safety test prior to assessment.
Certification:
Upon successfully passing the NPORS assessment (which includes both theory and practical components), participants will be issued an NPORS Operators Card, valid for 5 years.

All delegates must bring a valid form of photo identification, such as a passport or driving licence, for course participation.
