Safe Pass is a mandatory one-day health and safety awareness programme for all construction workers in Ireland. The aim of the programme is to raise awareness and ensure that all workers have a basic knowledge of Construction Health & Safety and all applicable Legislation.

What a Safe Pass Course Covers:
A Safe Pass course is a comprehensive one-day training that covers various crucial topics, including:

Do I need a Safe Pass to work on a construction site in Ireland?
Yes. Under SOLAS regulations a valid Safe Pass card is a legal requirement to work on any Irish construction site.
How long is a Safe Pass card valid?
Your Safe Pass card shows an expiry date printed on the card itself. When it expires you retake the one-day course to renew it. Check the date on your card and book your renewal before it runs out, because you cannot work on an Irish construction site with an out-of-date card.
What ID and documents do I need to bring to the Safe Pass course?
Bring physical photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence, on the morning of the course. SOLAS are strict on this, so a photo of your ID on a phone or a photocopy will not be accepted. You will also need your PPS number, a passport-sized photograph and a stamped addressed envelope. Participants must be over 16.
How much is the Safe Pass course?
The Safe Pass course costs 149 euro. You can book any of our public dates online for Dublin, Mullingar or Rhode, Co. Offaly. The price covers the full day and your registration with SOLAS.
Can I do the Safe Pass course online?
We run Safe Pass as an in-person course only. You attend for the full day with a tutor at one of our venues. If you need to train a group, we can run the course at your own site instead.
Does my employer pay for the Safe Pass course?
That varies from company to company. Many construction employers pay for Safe Pass for their workers, and others ask you to book it yourself. Check with your employer before you book, so you are not out of pocket.
Is there an exam at the end of the Safe Pass course?
Yes, the course finishes with a written assessment. Your tutor covers everything that comes up in it during the day, so there is nothing to study in advance.
What age do you need to be to do a Safe Pass course?
You must be over 16 to attend. Bring photo ID on the day, as it is checked before the course starts.
