Course Requirements

To attend the course, you need:

  1. A valid Safe Pass Card
  2. To be at least 18 years old.
  3. To bring a passport-sized photo on the day of the course.
  4. To bring a valid photo ID (Passport or Driving License).
  5. A valid PPS number.
  6. A minimum 6 months experience on a continuous basis which must be confirmed in writing and signed by the employer and applicant.

How long is the Location and Avoidance of Underground Services course?
Two days, running from 7:45am to 5pm each day. On successful completion you receive your CSCS card and SOLAS certification.
Who needs the Underground Services course?
Anyone excavating or working near buried utilities - construction and utility workers who need to locate services and avoid striking them.
Does the course cover using a CAT and Genny?
Yes. It covers the cable avoidance tool and signal generator, how to use them to trace buried services, and safe digging practice around what you find.
Do I need a Safe Pass before I can do this course?
Yes. You need a valid Safe Pass card before you can take a CSCS course. If you do not have one, or yours has expired, you can book it on our Safe Pass courses page.
Where do you run this course?
At our JPC training centre in Rhode, Co. Offaly, just off the M6 at Exit 3, with parking on site. Convenient for Tullamore, Edenderry, Portarlington, Mullingar and the wider Midlands.
Can you run this course at our own site?
Yes. We can deliver it at your premises or on your site, provided you have the machinery the course requires. Message us on WhatsApp to talk it through.
