  • IPAF 3b Operator: Covers Mobile Boom machines, which are self-propelled and may feature either articulated or telescopic booms. These can be driven while elevated, enhancing operational efficiency.

    • Truck-mounted booms
    • Trailer-mounted booms
    • Spider booms on tracks or wheels

Extra Categories

Participants have the option to complete up to three IPAF categories in a single training day, given prior notice. This includes:

  • 3b Mobile Boom
  • 1b Static Boom
  • 3a Mobile Vertical (Scissor Lift training)

On-Site Training

On-site training is available across the UK and Ireland, subject to minimum attendance and the availability of Cherry Pickers on site. For the theory portion, a suitable training room is required. Practical sessions necessitate access to:

  • A Static Boom (if candidates are pursuing all three IPAF categories)

Additionally, each Cherry Picker must have the Operator’s Manual and a current Certificate of Thorough Examination (issued within the last six months).
